Welcome to Paradise, our idyllic home in Koh Yao, a little island in Thailand, about as far away from the dreary grey skies of London as we could possibly get. We took a coach, plane, plane, bus, taxi & boat to finally reach this beautiful place.
The gallery of the resort had looked pretty wonderful online, but the reality was so much better. We checked in and were overloaded with info about all the facilities and activities available to us, we just couldn't take it all in. We couldn't believe how spectacular this place really was....
But I'm cruel and heartless, so you'll have to wait until tomorrow for a tour around the island. Instead we freshened up and wiggled our toes in the sand over to the beach bar for some tropical refreshments and nibbles.
As if on cue, the sun began making his way down, fading the sky into the most beautiful palette of pastels. We had to pinch ourselves to be sure we weren't in some kind of dream and kept grinning ear to ear.
Drinks. Sunset. Food?
Yes please! It seemed only right that we dined on our favourite Thai food, as a comparison to what we are used to back home. Prawn cakes. Pad Thai. Nasi Goreng.
The verdict? Totally delicious and ever so fresh. Stay tuned for what went down in our Thai cookery classes each day...
